Offcuts of fly screen found at a recycling centre piqued my interest. I immediately saw many potential uses for this mundane material. Noticing patterns forming when the screens were stacked led me to explore deliberate layering and sculptural forms to exploit the moiré effects.
I use various techniques, including stitching, painting, drawing and printing to create. My work expresses my concerns about the future of the environment and the effects of climate change due to human actions. On a personal level I am concerned with my own vulnerability and the passing of time.
